How to Add Domain in Google Postmaster?

Google Postmaster:

Google Postmaster is an open source tool used by email senders to get insights of email deliverability and sender reputation. Email sender may determine rate at which emails are passing SPF, DKIM and DMARC protocols through authentication dashboard. One of the key roles of Google Postmaster is to monitor and analyze email performance by providing data on metrics such as delivery rates, spam rates and bounce rate etc.

Authentication Protocols:

These protocols are highly significant to ISP’s as they help verify the legitimacy of sender and protect subscribers from spam / tricky emails.

1- SPF:
This protocol verifies the identity of sender by checking if sending IP address matches a list of authorized senders for that domain.

2- DKIM:
This protocol uses a set of encrypted keys to verify the true identity of a sender.

3- DMARC:
This protocol works seamlessly with SPF and DKIM to ensure email authentication is properly enforces.

Adding Domain in Google Postmaster:

There are certain steps to be followed to add your domain in Google Postmaster:-

Step 1: Log in to https://postmaster.google.com/

Step 2Click on the ‘Plus’ option to add a new record.

Step 3: As the 1st step, Add your domain in the Getting Started box.

Step 4Click Next to get the TXT record and add it in the DNS records.

Step 5Access your DNS record, and add the TXT record provided by Google. Once completed go back to Google Postmaster and select Verify.

Once the domain record is added you would see the status as verified in the Postmaster Tool.
